The day was hot and the crowd came in huge numbers! Eadily over 2000 and the atmosphere was terrific.

I arrived late, arriving by car just before quarter time and spent the next 15 minutes (maybe longer) looking for a car park..and ended up parking on the eastern side of the train line.
Traditional VFA footy on a Sunday at 2pm should be the default fixture to maximise attendances.
The game itself was free flowing at times with some great skills in display despite some early season skill errors.
Roy George will need his own highlights package by seasons end as he is electric around goals and could have had a couple more.
I thought that Sandringham who have nearly built a playing list from scratch played some very good footy and will trouble more than a few sides in their compete in 2026 in standalone form.
I need to watch the replay before i comment on individual standouts as the kids kept me pretty distracted.
I watched a good chunk of the Devils v Coburg and can see that next week's game in Launceston (as with all home games for Tasmania) will be very tough for the visiting side.
