The Williamstown Football Club is pleased to announce the appointment of Justin Plapp as the new Development/Reserves Coach replacing Adam Potter who has recently been appointed as Coburg FC Senior Coach.

The 33 year old Plapp has had a highly decorated playing and coaching career and first came into prominence when he kicked 98 goals with the Burnie Dockers in 1996 under the coaching of Peter German. Plapp was selected as pick 8 in the 1996 Rookie Draft by Richmond and went on to play 44 AFL games and kicked 30 goals between 1998 and 2002. At the completion of his AFL career Justin played in the SANFL with the Port Adelaide Magpies and also the Tassie Devils in the VFL.

Justin was appointed playing coach of the Burnie Dockers in 2008 - 2009 where his side finished runners up in 2008 and preliminary finalists in 2009. In 2010 Justin joined the Box Hill Hawks as the Development Squad Coach and his side ironically defeated Williamstown in an epic grand final by 17 points in a high quality game.

Williamstown Football Club CEO Brendan Curry stated, "our Club is thrilled to appoint Justin who has the coaching and development focus our Club was seeking. Justin's relationship with Peter German goes back to 1996 and he has also played AFL football with our Defensive Coach David Bourke at Richmond. We believe this appointment is a great fit and positions our Club with an outstanding coaching staff where we aim to continue developing young talent and fast tracking their progress."
