THE end to the Brad Ottens saga finally appears in sight, with the Geelong ruckman a chance to return through the VFL this week.

The 29-year-old, who has not played since round two because of a knee injury, will take part in the Cats' main training session of the week today.

If he gets through that, coach Mark Thompson said he would likely line-up for the reserves (WTF!) team on Saturday morning, with a view to play in the seniors the following week.

"Otto is going to join training tomorrow and may be a chance to play VFL this week, or the following, maybe VFL or AFL, so depending on how he pulls up from training tomorrow," Thompson said yesterday.

"(He's) very, very close and (we're) happy to have him back."
