NORTHERN Bullants moved into the VFL top eight after defeating Coburg by one goal at NAB Oval on Saturday.

The Ants started the Round 7 strong and by the end of the opening quarter had built a 20-point lead. But the Tigers fought back in the second term to reduce the margin to one point at half-time.

The sides went goal for goal in the third stanza, with the Ants maintaining a one-point advantage going into the final change.

The Tigers got the early jump on the Ants and led for most of the final term but the home side was able to regain momentum, and a late goal to Ahmed Saad sealed the 16.9 (105) to 15.9 (99) victory.
