* It's time to restore the VFA name.
There is no tv coverage of this game
Hopefully will be on AFL App
Very disappointing decision. Do you know if there will be a recording available after the fact on the AFL website as usual, or will it be live only?
On a different note, shocked Ange Gogos isn't in the squad for the women's team after winning the Lambert-Pearce medal last season. I suppose she's injured or unavailable - hopefully not injured. And the Liston winner in Jacob Dawson isn't in the men's squad - either he's unavailable or the selectors made a really bizarre decision there. Odd coincidence that neither of the league best and fairests are in the squads. I may be biased but I think Tom Hird is a bit stiff not to make the squad, though there are a lot of good midfielders to choose from and if he can continue to maintain his form from last season he should get noticed in future years.
Yeah surely Channel 7 could have jumped on board for this game. They are still covering the SANFL this season aren't they?
* It's time to restore the VFA name.
Yeah, 7 is still covering the SANFL. Seems like it should have been pretty easy for them to cover these games too, especially since they don't have any AFL games on Saturdays.
Final squads have been announced here: https://www.afl.com.au/news/1492689/big-v-squads-named-for-2026-state-ga...
Teams, emergencies, and leadership groups will be announced sometime before Saturday. The SANFL will announce their men's squad on Thursday and their women's team before Saturday.
Bit surprised to see Emily Eaves not in the final team, since she was joint winner of the coaches' award last season (granted, she'd likely have finished second if Ange Gogos had played the last game, but Gogos wasn't even in the initial squad). Nyakoat Dojiok another surprising omission from the initial squad.
Men’s state game will now be televised ion 7mate in VIC and SA starting at 3pm AEST
That's great news Robbo! It would have been a poor result if no broadcast partner took up the option to show it.
* It's time to restore the VFA name.
Yes, great news indeed!

A terrific performance from the Big V, to make it consecutive wins against the SANFL.
Harvey Hooper really good as the game went on and it was an entertaining game throughout.
