FRANKSTON coach Shannon Grant was a relieved man after coaching the Dolphins to their first win of the season by 23-points against bottom of the ladder Bendigo Bombers at Frankston Park yesterday.

But it was Essendon’s youngsters that stood out for Bendigo yesterday in their best outing of the season with David Myers (30 disposals), Leroy Jetta (26), Michael Hurley (22 and five marks), Jay Nash (23), David Zaharakis (17) and Bachar Houli (16) being the stand-outs.

Grant, who said he will remain as coach of Frankston for at least next season, said the Dolphins are in a rebuilding phase on and off the field in a bid to match it with the best.

“We’re a young group and we’ve just got to continue to work with them and be patient with them,” Grant said.

“We just have to make sure that we develop and I’ve got no doubt they’ll be very good VFL footballers in two or three years to come.”
