JAMES Podsiadly's week just got a whole lot bigger.

A day after booting eight goals against Casey Scorpions to lead Werribee to a VFL preliminary final, the Tigers captain last night won the league best-and-fairest, the J. J. Liston Trophy.

In a thrilling vote count at Moonee Valley, the star forward polled one vote for booting seven goals in the 66-point win at Bendigo in Round 19 to finish with 16 votes and pip Sandringham skipper Peter Summers and Williamstown captain Brett Johnson by a solitary vote.

Johnson missed the votes in the final-round Williamstown-Werribee clash at Burbank Oval, while Summers failed to poll in Sandy's home loss to North Ballarat, handing Podsiadly victory.
