Your dragging the bottom of the barrel now Mega. "Beep your horn stadium" There were a few horns beeping in 2008. If you remember ??

Keep pushing it up Mate !

Nothing has changed in a hundred years !

No toilets, no terracing, telephone box changerooms, container shipping facilities sure is something to be proud of !

As for safety,  Two Rooster supporters spent nights in Melbourne hospitals after suffering injuries from falls due to the dangerous surrounds.

Billy, let's hope Sandy don't get rid of the old scoreboard. It has character and some rich tradition, sadly lacking at footy grounds these days!

Terrible display on the electronic clock at Sandy. The display is too small and difficult to read on a sunny day

The old Sandy scoreboard is great. One of the old fashion scoreboards with fantastic character. How dare they put some crap electronic garbage.  Hope they leave the iconic zebra scoreboard alone.

Sorry to say Digs i think your mistaken, alot has changed in a hundred years and a lot more will continue changing with further ground improvements in the near future.

Container Shipping Facilities ? Not sure what you mean by that, it's been a few years since you visited your old beloved club, perhaps you are getting mixed up with some other ground.

No toilets?? Only 5 sets of toilets.

No terraces ? Not needed, why would you swap hills that ad characted to the ground that many enjoy by sitting on the hill drinking, eating enjoying the day to put ugly terraces there?

Telephone Box Change Rooms? Not as Big as North Ballarats AFL size change rooms but has definitely been adequate for 140 years and far from being tiny and the smallest in the comp. Satisfactory rooms which recently had a upgrade (although you say nothing's changed in 100 years).

Two rooster supporters got drunk and had a accident and now it's the grounds fault? That's the problem with society thesedays, people don't take personal responsibility instead many look at someone/something to blame other than themselves.

The current scoreboard was paid for by the British American Tobacco Co in the 1970s it cost $8000.00  and had a Winfiled sign on it till the Sandringham Council banned cigatette advertising on their sporting grounds in the mid 1980s

Without sounding like a fanatical reformed smoker, probably a good thing that cigarette advertising was banned at Sandy and in general. Smoking in a open stadium though I think is ok and talk about banning smoking in the VFL might be going a bit overboard I feel.

If their was a like function on this site id click on your post Billy.

Northport has anybody suggested adding such a feature to the forum ?

MegaA The VFA banned all cigarete/tobacco signage/sponsorship from 1987 and got on board with the Cancer Council anti smoking campaign QUIT.

It was the first major sporting orgaisation in Australia to do so!
