Things are looking up about getting a season in 2020
Box Hill Hawks will resume training on Saturday
And this tweet from Legendary vfl news hound Paul Amy
bring it on !
Thank god.. I'll believe it when I see it, but it is encouraging nonetheless.
He also said it looks like an August start. Might be a very short season....
My guess it will be an 8 to 10 week season plus finals. I'd take that. Better than no play at all. If I had to pick the ladder in order possibly something like this werribee, Willy, coburg, port, Frankston, Casey, sandringham and box hill. Coburg will improve with short season. Werribee team to beat. Frankston to make finals. The three bottom teams box hill, sandy and casey more than likely without their afl players. Might be hard for them to avoid the bottom 3 spots. Make it a final 5 as you will have some ripper games. Will be a lot of hard fought games throughout the season and being a short season games will be full on. Bring it on I say !!!
Just hope they let us in to see the games...
They will let you in for sure Bearsman because they need the bucks !
We might be from the bush. but we ain't green
Frankston in the finals......I salivate at the thought. Good luck locking me out of that one!
It would be pointless for the season to go ahead with no crowds. The clubs have to have crowds to make any money. In the end it will come down to what Dangerous Dan decides.
No VFL clubs would draw crowds big enough to upset Dan's social distancing, not at this point. As long as the bars and snack bars and entrances are obeying the 1.5m, I can't see what the bloody problem is. That goes for local footy and kids footy as well. Making problems where there are none I reckon.
This is not looking good!
