Dolphins were tremendous from midway through the second quarter on Friday. The slow start cost them, but was certainly proud getting to watch them fight the way they did and take the game at a close to full-strength Brisbane very well in the second half even with a number of key players out.

The old Springvale jumpers look far better than their normal strip. Wish they could wear them far more often.

Looking at the ladder Casey will end up on top after the home and away season unless they have a dramatic slump. They might lose a game or two though. Southport should finish second. The sharks play Box Hill soon in an away game. I expect the sharks to win and win well. Spots three to eight are well and truly up for grabs. A win by Werribee next week who host Geelong would be a massive boost of their finals chances. Still a five way battle for the spoon but I think North Melbourne are certainties. In fact North Melbourne will not win another game in both AFL and VFL for the rest of the season and will collect the VFL spoon and if somehow West Coast can fluke a win will be a double spoon for North Melbourne. Unfortunately for North Melbourne there is a very long dark tunnel with not much light. Went to Montrose for the first time yesterday and watched them play Mooroolbark. Fantastic set up and social rooms. The place was packed after the game with a great vibe. I intend to go to some local grounds that I have not been to before in the next few weeks. Really enjoyed Frankston on Friday night. The dolphins are doing well off field and are slowly getting there on field. They lost no admirers on Friday night with their effort.  Looking forward to see Port Melbourne play under lights. Can't go to the game against Werribee in a few weeks but will attend their next night game against Carlton.
