VFL R9 - Port Melbourne v Sydney
Body:

It will be 'make or break' for Port's season with the loss to Sandringham being a real worry as to just where we are at.

The winless Swans will rate themselves a bit of a chance of causing an upset under lights down at Port.

I'm looking forward to seeing how Tasmanian Jordan Lane goes, finally making his debut.

Yes same here regarding Lane,  has a exciting resume. Some big outs no Bennell, no Hunter, still no Lentini or Wilkinson. I expect Port to win but not by a overly comftable margin.

If Lane scores a few he will score himself a spot for the coming weeks. Port by 20-30.

Wow.. Very happy with not only tonight's result..

Port Melbourne 18.10. 118

Sydney 8.7.55

..but it was the way Port played tonight.

I thought our body language, intensity, work rate and decision making were the best I have witnessed this season, and the crowd were passionate and vocal, particularly when debutantes Lane and Viccars got their hands on the footy. Both played very impressively first up and would be almost certain starters next week.  Hooper I think was leading disposal getter but Nash Holmes (back in form), Hird, Cameron, Rossman and Jake Gaspar all were lively.

I had to leave just before the final siren, but chucked on the live stream as I walked back to the car and heard that Sam Naismith had amassed over 40 odd hit outs and his brilliant form has continued on

Geelong next week looms as a big game down at Kardinia Park.

Port likes playing under lights at home. Has now won 3 from 4 under lights at home. Port can beat the inconsistent and erratic geelong next week at kardinia park.

I've only seen patches of the game,  Lane and Vickers from what I saw will almost definitely get a game next week. I think Lane still may have to prove himself though, although he got 3 goals all his goals were from infringements, I would have liked to of seen a goal or two from marks or in play, not writing him off by any means but feel like he could have secured 2,3 games had he of scored a few goals where frees were not involved. Vickers impressive, great game to begin with. Good to see Signorello score 4. My concern with him is he is hot and cold and perhaps a confidence player. Hopefully the 4 goals will be enough to spur him on, I think when his on he's good enough to.plsy AFL, just a matter of finding that consistency.

Hard tontell from the live feed bur how do people who were at the game rate the crowd ? Was it a success or  should we give up mid season night matches ? Looked OK on the stream and was described as a "good little crowd" whatever that means *sigh* it's alla Greek to me !

Several typos in the past post but being the day of rest I can't be bothered fixing them but one last thing... Several online comments of disunity, lack of moral etc etc, teams that sing the team song twice after a match are definitely not lacking moral.
