Is anyone else frustrated/annoyed with the food and drink outlets at VFL venues? Prices have become ridiculous (2/3 cup of lukewarm tea/coffee for $2.50 at most places) and they often don't open until half-time in the curtainraiser.
Typical example was yesterday at Port, where it is odd enough that they have coffee at a different place from the food. While I was in line at the food counter (which opened about 1/4 time in the first game) several people asked for tea/coffee only to be told by an embarrassed helper that the coffee would be available "over there" (pointing) and she was sure they would be open soon. Finally it opened at half time in the Under 23 game and there was a queue out the door until halfway through the third quarter. This, in my experience, is the norm at Port, not just at rep games.
Several other venues have similar issues.
I think we all understand that these outlets are staffed by volunteers and that the money raised goes straight back to the club but pricing and availability often leave a lot to be desired.
I for one will be taking my thermos from now on.
