As I travelled back from Austar Arena after Ports two made it three wins on the trot, I was a little surprised to hear Werribee being referred to as the 'Ducks' by the Ox and Pickers on SEN.
Now surely with Werribee having the name Tigers for years before Coburg, they could have worked out something a little more appropriate.
For starters Coburg should have been referred to as their more identifiable name the Lions... Problem solved.
I reckon even calling Werribee the 'bees' would have avoided the name clash.
Can someone tell me how the name Ducks was chosen?
I can only assume its that joke about a team thats going through the motions (like a Werribee Duck).
