Strange game today.
We kicked the first 10 goals of the match, yet somehow that still didn't feel "safe", and it wasn't. Podsiadly missed a goal with only a minute left which would have tied the scores, pretty easy shot for the pods, about 30 metres out, slight angle.
At one stage, i think we both had about 10 scoring shots, yet we were 40 odd points up.
Thought Sam Gibson was great, took some strong, important contested marks, and used the ball well. MvGlynn and Height were tough and busy, and in our attack, Arthur behind the goals was extremely effective, keeping all Werribee defenders well and truly distracted. I heard it all, and i was 50-60 metres away most of the day.
With the ridiculous situation of a top 8 in a 13 team comp., we're still a funny little chance of making the finals. In the run home, we've got winnable matches against Frankston, Tassie and Springvale, but play Preston and have a bye to make it a bit difficult. 8 wins, it's touch and go, and we wouldn't go anywhere if we got in, but it'd be good to keep our run from 2000 going. At leaast there's no tanking in the VFL!
