No Melb AFL games in weeks 2/3 VFL Marketing ideas?
If so, its a perfect opportunity for the VFL to try and draw some AFL members along to the finals series. The Victorian Football public seemed to have dropped off the VFA/VFL particularly during the finals series in recent years, with last years Grand Final only drawing about 8000 supporters. Any ideas to being the crowds back to make the VFL finals series a well attended event?

Have the grand final at the home of football port melbourne.

The VFL shoudl allow card carrying members of any AFL Club, or AFL Members half price, or even free ebtry to the Grand Final. This year is a one off and needs to be capitalised on.

No AFL footy is one thing but the VFL is competing with a good number of country/metro Grand Finals and of course the Melbourne Show. But still if they don't crack 10,000 for the Grand Final its a dead set failure. Perhaps they should put a half price entry token in the Herald Sun for it or something!

NO afl games in Melbourne for those 2 weeks means plenty of supporters flocking to vfl/country and metro matches. Get of your backsides and support the grass roots footy. Stuff the AFL and to all those whingers who are too lazy get of your backsides !!!

The VFL has no idea how to market. You need to give something to get something... they really have to do more than 1/2 price vouchers tucked away in the herald sun. That'd increase the crowd by 200 maybe. They need perhaps full page ads in the herald-sun, or half page, they need a spokesman, like Kekka or someone, someone who's made an impact both in VFL and VFA, to act as a bridge for people to walk across. Can the VFL run ads on commercial tv, or does that negate their ABC deal? They need an advertising campaign really playing on what the VFL offers, make it look attractive! I'm no marketing person, but you've just got to look outside the box, that is unless you're happy with what you've got!
