Early weather forecast for next Sunday: Shower or Two Max 18 Sandringham are looking for their 3rd straight flag and 10th overall. Geelong last made the Grand Final in 2002 in which they beat Port Melbourne for their only VFL flag but they also won 7 flags in the VFA between 1877 and 1886 before they entered the VFL in 1897. Given good weather a crowd of 15000 should turn up. It should be a great days football. This is the last grand final to be played at Carlton.

Thanks Robbo. Five radio stations calling the game? Geez, can't recall that happening before! Doesn't even happen with the AFL. They mightn't have enough boxes at Princes Park for them all. Ressies at 10.40 hey...seems to get earlier and earlier every year.

As far as the reserves is concerned I believe that is the case but may change. This was the time it as played last year. Footyman what do you think of my preview.
Footyman what do you think of my preview.
Really good. Clear, concice and covers everything you'd want to know leading up the match next week. Thats the sort of thing I'd like to see in the newspaper to promote the game. You've saved me having to look up the past results too :D Just one thing - you said this is the last Grand Final to be played at Carlton. And also that 15,000 should turn up. Have you got mail on that Carlton comment cos seriously if 15,000 did turn up there is no way they could fit that into TEAC Oval if they try it in 2007!

But 15000 they thought was a distinct possibility depending on the weather. It is the last VFL Grand Final at Carlton as the contract runs out this year. Football Victoria have already stated this. They are looking at venues for 2007 I believe they are Punt Road,Windy Hill, Telstra Dome or back to Port Melbourne. I think the 2007 Grand Final will be back at Port Melbourne.

Great preview Robbo. Well done, chief. I reckon Sandy will win by 17 points. Poyas or N Ablett to win Norm Godd Medal as best-afield.
theobserver
That would be the Norm Goss Medal as best-afield  .
