Round 15 (Split Round)
Body:
Round 15 is the second split round of the season. There are some huge games over the next 2 weeks. Saturday July 19 Geelong(6-8 10th) vs North Ballarat(11-3 3rd) at Skilled Stadium 10:40am (AFL C/R-3XX 1611) Previous Meeting: Round 8 at Austar Arena. North Ballarat 17-15(117) def Geelong 12-14(86) Geelong are just percentage out of the eight and North Ballarat are are looking to continue their good form and confirm a double chance in the finals. This should be a great game and anyone who is lucky enough to have tickets to Geelong vs Western Bulldogs AFL game should get there early for this one. It will be a big day at the Cattery. Northern Bullants(7-7 7th) vs Box Hill Hawks(2-12 14th) at NAB Oval,Preston 1:10pm(ABC1) Previous Meeting: Round 6 2007 at Box Hill. Northern Bullants 13-15(93) def Box Hill Hawks 13-9(87) A big game for the Bullants after a shock loss in Bendigo. They need a win to stay ahead of the teams that are battling for the 8th spot. Box Hill are looking for a win to get off the bottom of the ladder. Northern Bullants should win but anything can happen. Sunday July 20 Werribee(8-6 5th) vs Casey Scorpions(10-4 3rd) at Werribee 2pm (Casey Radio) Previous Meeting: Round 8 2007 at Werribee. Werribee 21-15(141) def Casey Scorpions 10-8(68 ) Another big game with a lot riding on it. Werribee currently in 5th position after a come from behind win against will be looking to keep their last quarter form going. Casey are also in good form with a win can creep ever closer to a double chance. Another cracker. Williamstown(12-2 1st) vs Coburg Tigers(7-7 6th) at Williamstown 2pm(3XX 1611) Previous Meeting: 2nd PF 2007 at TEAC Oval. Coburg Tigers 20-17(137) def Williamstown 11-10(76) Williamstown will go into this game as heavy favorites given their good form and Coburg's recent poor form. Coburg need to be careful as another loss could throw them into the battle with the sides below them for a finals spot. A sub plot to this day is if you turn up at 11:10am for the reserves game it is the game that a lot of people have been waiting for as the two unbeaten sides finally play against each other. Sandringham(6-8 8th) vs Tasmania(4-10 12th) at Sandringham 2pm Previous Meeting: Round 7 at Aurora Stadium. Sandringham 31-17(203) def Tasmania 7-9(51) A big game for the Zebras. A must win game to stay in the top 8. They did beat the Devils by 152 points back in Round 7. The Devils will hoping that the game will be a lot closer this time around. The reserves game before hand between Sandringham and North Ballarat will also be interesting after Sandy wee held goalless. A win for the Zebras would almost give them a double chance in the finals. Saturday July 26 Frankston(6-8 9th) vs Port Melbourne(11-3 2nd) at Frankston 1:10pm (ABC1,Casey Radio,3XX 1611) Previous Meeting: Round 5 at TEAC Oval. Port Melbourne 15-19(109) def Frankston 7-9(51) Big day for the Dolphins as they are having their "I Love Frankston" Day. Port Melbourne are currently the form side in the competition and will go into the game as favorites. The Dolphins have performed well against the top sides only to be overrun in the last quarters. Last game against Werribee was another example of that. Given good weather it should be a big crowd with it being the only game on and admission is Free courtesy of the Frankston City Council and Crazy John's. Sunday July 27 Collingwood(3-11 13th) vs Bendigo Bombers(5-9 11th) at MC Labour Park 2pm (Casey Radio,3XX 1611) 1st Meeting between these two teams Bendigo Bombers are coming off a great win against the Bullants and are now right in the hunt to play finals. It will still be difficult but anything is possible. Bendigo will come into the game as favorites. Collingwood's form has been indifferent this year. Interesting Game.
