Simon Atkins the senior coach of the Werribee Football Club today announced the club has signed Nathan Thompson for 2009 to play for the club and also as the forward line coach. 

The former Hawk and Kangaroo played three games for the club in 2008 as a member of the North Melbourne list aligned to Werribee. Atkins is delighted to have Nathan at the club

“He brings a lot of experience to our young group. He will be a huge presence on the field and a player that we know can make a match winning contribution. His role as assistant coach, looking after our forward line, will be invaluable, with what he can pass onto our players.”

Thompson who played 119 games with the Hawks and 60 games with North Melbourne ( 15 in 2008) kicked over 300 career goals in the AFL. 

“I played at Werribee a few times last year and really enjoyed my time there. I am really looking forward to the opportunity to contribute to a team that is on the rise”.
