We're seeing less and less practice matches nowadays with councils restricting access to ovals.
I remember about 5 years ago seeing a praccy games a good 5-6 weeks out from Round 1. Now it seems most sides have three weeks, possibly four, and thats it.
Some promising signs for the first sort of hit-out for the season.
I thought A Deluca rucked well, and looks like he could be a handful if he remains fit. Its a big ask after being out of the game for a season.
Gilham presented well.. could this be his year? He's been on the list for a while now. Could he be the other forward option to take some of the load off Bonaddio?

Gilham is injured once again. Had a horrid run with injury.
Port tried to play one at Murphy's Oval last year but the ground was too bad with pot holes. They did not want to risk injury.
It would be a great way to test out all the new young players.
I will investigate and let you know.
:)
Thanks Boroughborn... Even if its just a Friday afternoon training session that is used to play it, I'd love to know.
cheers,
David
* It's time to restore the VFA name.
I remember an intra club game at RMIT in Budoora about 2002. I cant recall any in recent years

Good news Port supporters!
Port will play an intra-club match next Monday night at North Port oval. It was announced at training tonight.
I couldn't find out exact starting time but training usually starts around 5.30 pm so I expect the match to start between 5.30 pm and 6.00 pm.
