KYNETON has secured former Port Melbourne VFL player Lee Picioane for the 2009 Bendigo Bank Bendigo Football League season.
Picioane is the brother of former Adelaide, North Melbourne and Hawthorn AFL player Lance Picioane, who the Tigers are also believed to be in negotiations with.
Kyneton coach Paul Houston confirmed the signing of Lee, who played with Essendon District Football League club Keilor last year, to The Advertiser last night.
“I coached against Lee last year and he certainly gave me plenty of headaches,†said Houston, who coached Avondale Heights last season.
“He’s a very good player who was an attacking half-back flanker for Keilor.â€
Picioane was one of Keilor’s best players in its upset 33-point win over Greenvale in last year’s EDFL A grade grand final.
While the Tigers have picked up Picioane, their star utility of the past two years, Cameron Tate, has officially lodged a clearance to join Eastern Football League club Wantirna South.[/quote]
