PORT Melbourne has swooped on former Carlton midfielder Adam Bentick and Melbourne player Shane Valenti in its bid to overcome an exodus of playing experience.

The Borough, along with several other VFL clubs, has also shown interest in former Geelong midfielder Kane Tenace, ex-Kangaroo Daniel Harris - seemingly destined for the Gold Coast - former Eagle Ashley Arrowsmith and ex-Bulldog Guy O'Keefe in the lead-up to Tuesday's AFL pre-season and rookie drafts.

Former Western Bulldogs ruckman Wayde Skipper, who has been training at Hawthorn, is believed to be heading to Werribee if he isn't a mature-age selection in the rookie draft.

Borough coach Gary Ayres said Bentick and Valenti's experience would complement the team after the loss of David Robbins, David Pitt, Matthew Smith, Adrian and Fabian Deluca, Bo Nixon and Blake Grima.
