After Tasmanian coach Matthew Armstrong publicly aired his disappointment with the standard of umpiring, another club official has had his say.
To someone who was at the Bendigo v Northern Bullants game yesterday, was it bad? And to everyone in general - has the standard dropped this year?
Here's a few quotes from the Bendigo Advertiser today:
[i] "Bendigo Bombers chairman Warren Driscoll also said the game was marred by poor umpiring decisions towards both sides and the club would be submitting a complaint to the VFL.
"They lost control," he said. "There were players walking around in absolute confusion because no one knew what was going on. I sat with the Bullants committee for most of the day and they all agreed the umpiring was a disgrace. I will be writing a formal letter of complaint to the VFL to make sure that the performance of one umpire in particular is investigated and assessed. There were at least five indiscretions during the match that led to Bullants goals and while it didn't change the outcome of the match, the umpiring was just a disgrace."
