THERE was a bit of VFA-style biffo to start Saturday's VFL match between Port Melbourne and Sandringham at TEAC Oval.
But once things settled in the second quarter Port only punched holes in the Zebras' defence, powering to a 92-point victory over a team that was unbeaten going into the Round 5 clash.
Boroughs coach Gary Ayres called it his team's best performance for 18 months, delighted at how it kept its foot at Sandy's throat.
Nine goals in the final quarter turned it into a blow-out result that few could have foreseen.
After the match a seething Sandringham coach Andy Lovell kept his players locked up until 5.15pm.
