FRANKSTON plunged to the bottom of the ladder after being blown away by the winless Werribee Tigers at Chirnside Park on Sunday.

Coach Simon Goosey said the 59-point loss was particularly disappointing because, for three quarters, Frankston looked a winning hope.

Sniffing victory, Werribee slammed on 9.7 to 2.1 in the final 30 minutes to bolt clear.

"We fell away, our work rate fell away," Goosey said.

"We’re not using being young as an excuse but that experience takes over. At the end of the day we didn’t maintain the pressure for a four-quarter effort."
