NORTH Melbourne has once again dealt partial Victorian Football League affiliate North Ballarat a kind hand in its split of AFL players on to second-tier lists.

The Kangaroos share their VFL alignment with the Roosters and Werribee but the Tigers have again missed out on North Melbourne's brightest young talents.

The Roosters, VFL premiers for the past three years, have scooped first-round draft pick Shaun Atley, athletic ruckman and Ballarat boy Ben Mabon, key defender Cameron Delaney and retained premiership half-back Cameron Richardson.

Atley, a highly skilled and agile midfielder who has been likened to dual Brownlow medallist Chris Judd, was touted as a top-10 draft pick but slipped to the Roos at No. 17.
