East Perth face a massive first-up challenge in the Foxtel Cup when they clash with VFL powerhouse North Ballarat at Patersons Stadium on Saturday.
The match, which will be played as a curtain raiser to Fremantle's game against Geelong, will feature the side which finished third in the WAFL last year against the winner of the past three VFL premierships.
Football manager Mark Winnett said the Royals were excited about the chance to play in the inaugural elite competition which brings together 16 of the best State-league clubs, including East Perth, Swan Districts and Claremont, in a knockout competition.
Swans line up against another VFL side, Williamstown, at Patersons Stadium on Saturday week with the Tigers to do battle with TFL team Clarence on April 23.
