BOX Hill Hawks spoilt Williamstown's return to its renovated home ground with a six-point upset win after a titanic final term at Point Gellibrand Oval yesterday.
During a final term that exceeded 34 minutes, the Hawks came back against the odds to hang on for victory.
Tom Murphy's resilience in defence to take some critical marks, Xavier Ellis getting his slender body in to make a smother, Amos Frank's magical performance to be composed under ferocious pressure and nail the goals that mattered most, Kyle Cheney's hard-nosed tackling, Luke Lowden's big body around the stoppages and Tom Schneider's ability to kick the ball long and hard towards the boundary in desperate circumstances are moments that are match-saving and match-winning.
Advertisement: Story continues below Perhaps the biggest effort was Box Hill skipper Daniel Pratt putting his body on the line at a critical stage of the match against on-coming Seagulls traffic. Pratt was knocked unconscious and taken off on a stretcher just before three-quarter-time.
