CARLTON'S coaches box tonight suffered a shake-up with development coach and VFL mentor Robert Hyde resigning after just 10 games.

The former triple premiership-winning Calder Cannons mentor will be replaced at the Northern Blues by Carlton assistant Darren Harris, who coached the VFL Blues last year.

But Northern Blues general manager Garry O’Sullivan denied tension with Carlton coach Brett Ratten had led to Hyde’s decision.

"Not that I’m aware of," O’Sullivan said.

"I think there’s a lot of mutual respect there. That hasn’t been the catalyst at all. 'Ratts’ has got his own battles.’’

Ratten coaxed the former Collingwood best-and-fairest to a coaching comeback this year, overlooking premiership teammate Peter Dean.
