SANFL vs NEAFL North State Game

With WAFL vs VFL game being played at Northam this year. I have decided now to go to Adelaide instead on the Mother's Day weekend.

SANFL are playing NEAFL North (QLD/NT) at City Mazda Stadium,Richmond (the home of West Adelaide) on Saturday May 11 at 2:10pm.

If it is a fine day it could be a big margin.

A few familiar names. Eddie Sansbury, Leigh Osborne, Austin Wonaemirri and Andrew McQualter for NEAFL. For SANFL Ryan Ferguson ex Frankston, Joel Cross ex Box Hill, Nick Liddle, Michael Wundke, Brett Zorzi ex Preston, Matthew Panos ex Williamstown as well as Luke Jarrad another ex seagull.
The SANFL should win comfortably but it won't be a slaughter.

SUCKLING ADDED TO STATE SQUAD

By ZAC MILBANK | Twitter @zacmilbank

Norwood midfielder Mat Suckling has been added to the West End State squad to face the NEAFL at City Mazda Stadium on May 11.

Suckling, who won the Bob Quinn Medal for his outstanding display for the Redlegs on Anzac Day, has been identified for a specific role inside the centre square.

‘’He’s been in terrific form all year,’’ SANFL Chairman of Selectors Stephen Rowe said of Suckling, who tallied 41 disposals and 12 clearances against West Adelaide.

‘’There’s a role we are looking at for exactly his type of player, where the other guys aren’t putting their selection beyond doubt.

‘’With his terrific form, he thoroughly deserves to be named and he will really push his claims to be named in the actual team.’’

More additions are expected to the squad after round six of the SANFL is completed this weekend.

‘’The selection panel wants one more round of football to see those in the squad press their claims with good form,’’ Rowe said.

‘’Otherwise, there are two or three other players who are being watched very closely (who could come into the squad).’’

Glenelg forward Ruory Kirkby is the only player to be removed from the initial squad of 33 after injuring his knee against Port Adelaide in round three.
