North Ballarat Football ground to host AFL games By 2017
Body:

THE Western Bulldogs look all set to bark in Ballarat in 2017 after concept designs for the city’s revamped Eureka Stadium were unveiled.

Bulldogs chief executive Peter Gordon has revealed negotiations with the AFL are now complete and games would be scheduled for Ballarat during the 2017 season providing construction work was finished on time.

The Doggies hope to play two games a season at Ballarat as it spreads its roots into Western Victoria.

Plans for the construction of a new 5000-seat grandstand at the north Ballarat venue will now go out to community consultation with construction work set to start next year.

Work has already begun on reducing the oval size to be the same as Etihad Stadium and realigning its orientation by 32 degrees to meet AFL and Western Bulldogs requirements.
