Sandringham this morning locked in former Melbourne star Brett Lovett as its new senior coach, replacing his former AFL teammate Andy "Chopper" Lovell.
Lovell resigned at the end of the season and has accepted a development role with the Gold Coast Suns, the Bayside Leader reports.

Lovett knows the VFL scene, having coached Frankston between 2003-2008.

He came into the Sandringham’s thinking when it decided to go with a part-time coach (Lovett operates a large nursery on the Mornington Peninsula and could not commit to a full-time role in football).
