FAST-FINISHING Port Melbourne overran Sandringham at home by 31 points to edge closer to the top two and end the Zebras' finals hopes yesterday.

And at Visy Park, Collingwood officially stamped itself in the VFL finals for the first time after eclipsing Frankston by 76 points.

But it was the Borough, which kept its unbeaten record at home intact this season, that made a statement with six goals in the last 11 minutes to blitz Sandringham, which had looked the better of the two sides all day.

Heath O'Farrell was the mighty match-winner with six goals.

Port coach Gary Ayres said it took a special group of players to do the job. "They (Sandy) were probably the better side more often than not today," Ayres said. "But this group is very special.
