Melbourne won in a romp, but suffered a heavy casualty as it
picked apart Geelong at TEAC Oval on Saturday.
Ace left-footer Steve Brewer reinjured his hamstring and his ability to play again this season must be in doubt.
The defender was returning to the side after a three-week absence. He played in the reserves last week.
"He was devastated after the game, extremely emotional," coach Gary Ayres said.
"But as I said to him, we'll be doing everything we can to keep winning and give him the time to get it right."
