An eight-goal third quarter has helped North Ballarat to its second VFL Premiership in a row, the Roosters outlasting the Northern Bullants by 23-points in a Friday night result at Etihad Stadium.
Over 14 thousand spectators braved the chilly Melbourne night, but were treated to an intense arm-wrestle during the first half before the game opened up after the main break.
Led by a best-afield defensive performance from Orren Stephenson, the Roosters blitzed their opponent in the third term, coming away with a 14.7 (91) to 10.8 (68) victory.
Cameron Cloke may have kicked five goals for the Bullants but he was a lone shining light amongst the Carlton senior players in the side, many of whom struggled to rise to the occasion.
Instead, it was the Roosters, powered by Stephenson's efforts as a loose backman a kick behind play, that prevailed, with Corey Jones, Josh Smith and Cruize Garlett all playing influential roles.
