Springvale Scorpions games record-holder Damian "DC" Carroll is returning to the VFL as coach of the Box Hill Hawks.
Carroll's appointment will be announced today and he will meet the Box Hill players at the City Oval tonight.
His position involves a development role at Box Hill's VFL partner, Hawthorn.
Carroll beat out a field that included Box Hill reserves coach and former Tiger and Saint Justin Plapp.
The 37-year-old earned good notices while coaching TAC Cup team Gippsland Power for the past two seasons.
