WERRIBEE may have showed good form in the past couple of weeks but on Sunday against VFL rivals Williamstown they were a disappointment.

That was the word from Werribee coach Simon Atkins after his side’s 59-point round 12 thumping at Chirnside Park, 14.12.96 to 24.11.155.

Another good goal haul to the ever-impressive Nathan Thompson (this time he kicked eight) was not enough to give the Tigers an upset victory as they fell into the bad habits that saw them lose five on the trot early this season.

“Just the disappointment of what we have been able to work as a group the last couple of weeks, all of a sudden we are back,” Atkins said. “Our measurements are back to where we were four or five weeks ago so that was my disappointment. There was just far too much difference to what we have done and back down to that.”

The Seagulls went in favourites but the Tigers had the X-factor heading in after knocking off higher-placed sides Collingwood and Box Hill in consecutive matches, and they lived up to expectations early.
