CASEY Scorpions coach Brett Lovett didn't admit it but you get the feeling that there would have been some extra satisfaction from yesterday's last-gasp four-point win over his former team Sandringham at Trevor Barker Beach Oval.
Although there was no bitterness between the parties, Lovett parted with the Zebras' AFL affiliate, St Kilda, after it decided it wanted a full-time coach in the system and he was informed just a day after the club's best-and-fairest count.

He was approached soon after by Melbourne football manager Chris Connolly to take on the Casey role part-time on a two-year deal.
