2010 Round 9 Preview
Body:

Here is the preview from Round 9

SATURDAY
Geelong(2-6 10th) vs Werribee(1-6-1 13th) at Skilled Stadium 1pm
Last time they met: Rd 19 2009 at Werribee. Werribee 21-18(144) def Geelong 10-2(62)
Geelong are coming off a good win against North Ballarat while Werribee were beaten comfortably by the Borough. This should be a close game but Geelong at home to win.
STATS
1st Quarter: Geel 4-4(8th) Werr 1-6-1(14th)
2nd Quarter: Geel 6-2(3rd) Werr 4-4(9th)
3rd Quarter: Geel 3-5(10th) Werr 2-6(12th)
4th Quarter: Geel 2-6(13th) Werr 2-5-1(11th)
My Tip: Geelong by 13pts

Coburg Tigers(2-6 11th) vs Gold Coast(1-6-1 12th) at Highgate Rec Reserve,Craigieburn 1:10pm(ABC1 TV)
1st meeting between these 2 sides
Coburg are coming off a great win against Bendigo while the Gold Coast will be making the trip to Melbourne for the 2nd week in a row after The Bullants ran over them. This game has a side attraction with the possible debut of NRL convert Karmichael Hunt and given good weather should get a good crowd. Depending on the side the Coasters bring down to Melbourne will go along way in determining how this game will go. Coburg to win in a close one.
STATS
1st Quarter: Cob T 2-6(12th) Gld Cst 4-4(7th)
2nd Quarter: Cob T 5-3(5th) Gld Cst 2-6(12th)
3rd Quarter: Cob T 1-6-1(14th) Gld Cst 2-6(11th)
4th Quarter: Cob T 4-4(8th) Gld Cst 2-5-1(12th)
My Tip: Coburg Tigers by 5pts

Casey Scorpions(7-1 2nd) vs Sandringham(4-4 8th) at Casey Fields 2pm
(Reserves curtain raiser starts at 11am)
Last time they met: Rd 1 2009 at Sandringham. Sandringham 25-16(166) def Casey Scorpions 8-15(63).
Casey continue to fly under the radar with another solid win over Box Hill while the Zebras lost to Collingwood in the wet at Victoria Park last week. Casey at home are tough and should win this game despite the Zebras needing a win to stay in the top 8.
STATS
1st Quarter: Casey 4-3-1(4th) Sand 4-4(6th)
2nd Quarter: Casey 5-3(8th) Sand 3-5(11th)
3rd Quarter: Casey 6-2(2nd) Sand 5-3(6th)
4th Quarter: Casey 4-3-1(7th) Sand 4-4(9th)
My Tip: Casey Scorpions by 16pts

North Ballarat(6-2 3rd) vs Williamstown(7-1 1st) at Eureka Stadium 2pm
(Reserves curtain raiser starts at 11am)
Last time they met: Rd 16 2009 at Eureka Stadium. North Ballarat 14-14(98) def Williamstown 11-11(77)>
This is the match of the round. North Ballarat had an upset loss to Geelong while the Seagulls were pushed by the Dolphins for 2 and a half quarters before pulling away from them. North Ballarat don't lose 2 in a row at home all that often so this should be a great game.
STATS
1st Quarter: Nth Ball 5-3(3rd) Will 4-4(9th)
2nd Quarter: Nth Ball 1-7(14th) Will 7-1(2nd)
3rd Quarter: Nth Ball 7-1(2nd) Will 3-5(9th)
4th Quarter: Nth Ball 6-2(3rd) Will 7-1(1st)
My Tip: North Ballarat by 2pts

Collingwood(6-2 4th) vs Northern Bullants(4-4 7th) at Victoria Park 2pm
Last time they met: Rd 16 2009 at Preston. Northern Bullants 10-11(71) def Collingwood 9-9(63).
Both teams had big wins last weekend the Bullants over the Gold Coast and the Pies over Sandy. This should be a tight contest between two evenly matched teams and the Pies to win just at home.
STATS
1st Quarter: Coll 5-1-2(2nd) Nth Bull 3-4-1(10th)
2nd Quarter: Coll 4-4(6th) Nth Bull 6-2(2nd)
3rd Quarter: Coll 4-4(8th) Nth Bull 5-3-1(4th)
4th Quarter: Coll 4-3-1(6th) Nth Bull 5-3(4th)
My Tip: Collingwood by 4pts

SUNDAY
Box Hill Hawks(3-5 9th) vs Bendigo Bombers(5-3 6th) at Box Hill 2pm
(Reserves curtain raiser Box Hill Hawks vs Coburg Tigers starts at 11am)
Last time they met: Rd 18 2009 at Box ill. Box Hill Hawks 18-15(123) def Bendigo Bombers 12-13(85).
Both teams are coming off losses and looking to get back on track. Box Hill especially need the win to keep in touch with the top 8. Box Hill at home to win narrowly.
STATS
1st Quarter: BHH 8-0(1st) Bend 4-3-1(5th)
2nd Quarter: BHH 2-6(13th) Bend 5-3(5th)
3rd Quarter: BHH 6-2(3rd) Bend 5-3(6th)
4th Quarter: BHH 3-5(10th) Bend 5-3(5th)
My Tip: Box Hill Hawks by 8pts

Frankston(1-7 14th) vs Port Melbourne(6-2 5th) at Frankston 2pm
(Reserves curtain raiser at 11am)
Last time they met: Rd 16 2009 at Frankston. Port Melbourne 12-14(86) def Frankston 10-7(67).
Port had a good win over Werribee at home while the Dolphins were competitive with Willy for 2 and a half quarters before the Seagulls pulled away from them. These 2 sides have had good clashes in the past but Port will be too strong.
STATS
1st Quarter: Fston 2-6(13th) Port 3-5(11th)
2nd Quarter: Fston 3-5(10th) Port 4-4(8th)
3rd Quarter: Fston 2-6(13th) Port 5-3(7th)
4th Quarter: Fston 0-8(14th) Port 6-2(2nd)
My Tip: Port Melbourne by 22pts
