one of the most amazing games I have ever seen.
the wind was howling and it was a seven to eight goal breeze to the city end. port made good use of our in the first quarter kicking nine goals to two in the first quarter, but Williamstown worked hard and could have kicked another couple but missed a couple of golden opportunities.
in the second quarter it was all Williamstown, as they kicked 8 of their own and held Port scoreless. The third term was pretty even scoring wise. It didnt look anywhere near enough to defend.
The last quarter was just one of the best, grittiest wins you can imagine. Port were kicking into the strong wind and Williamstown looked cleaner with deeper eentries into their forward 50. Williamstown had the game at level pegging into time on, but a brilliant goal from Blake Pearson saw thw visiting side pull off a 2 point win that will go down in the clubs hhistory as one of the great wins.
It was a fitting result for both Ayres ans Cain who celebratd 150 game milestones.
