Cant help but wonder whether the Cats threw away all hope of winning by enforcing their policy to play all available AFL players ahead of their VFL listed players.
It was well known that the ground was going to be wet, and that rain and hail was forecast for the day.
Before the ball was even bounced we knew the Cats had too many talls given the conditions. A number of them ended up having no impact on the game.
They omitted a 181cm, 81kg strong onballer and replaced him with a 198cm, 105kg forward. Dumb decision.
They're the biggest losers because they don't have their hands on a premiership cup, but what they did today with their team selection - and what was allowed to happen with them selecting 20 AFL listed players - isn't good for this competition.
Thoughts?
