RICHMOND defender David Gourdis has been suspended for five matches by the VFL tribunal after making an obscene gesture to a field umpire and then making contact with the same umpire.
Gourdis lost his temper during Coburg's clash with Geelong last Saturday at Skilled Stadium.
The full-back was playing on Geelong forward Cameron Mooney and makes an obscene finger gesture to the umpire after he gave away a free kick in a marking contest.
A 50-metre penalty followed and Gourdis makes contact with the umpire when he stands the mark.
