A big win to the Borough keeps our finals chances alive.
The game could have been even more one-sided that the 9 goal margin shows as Port squandered a number of good scoring opportunities.
I'll post more in the morning, but there are lots of positives for the Borough, including the some of our better players including Naismith and Cameron both out.
Fraser, Holmes, Hird and Hooper amongst our best and some really positives signs going forward.
The day was a bit of a hit too off-field, with a healthy crowd at the Presidents lunch, along with a jumping castle and face painting for the kids. If it wasn't for the bitterly cold weather it would have drawn an even better crowd than the healthy number that showed up.
The Borough girls also notched up another win to retain top spot on the VFLW ladder.
The last quarter was a better reflection of the overall dominance of Port.
Looking at the ladder (which needs updating here), Port are still sitting 15th on the ladder so if we are sneak into that 100th position, everything will need to go our way in the last remaining matches.
* It's time to restore the VFA name.
As usual North Port Oval looked great!
Billy the surface looked good that's for sure. It had a few issues at the start of the season and was topdressed again a couple of weeks ago.
The 'tradies day' looked to work well. It would be good if it could be held earlier in the season when it's a touch warmer... I think they could draw a much bigger crowd if it wasn't scheduled in the middle of winter.

The Borough are only one win off 10th spot, so close enough if good enough. The percentage is a fair way back though, so not a lot of room for error. You feel like this week against Box Hill is almost must win to stay in touch with the top 10. Anything's possible when these two team meet, hopefully the can pull something special off.
Port will gain a lot of confidence from their win against Essendon where Box Hill will be lacking confidence after their loss to the Gold Coast. Box Hill's worst game for the year. Port Melbourne can beat them if they play their best and don't have a bad lapse in any quarters. Would be also good for both Werribee and Williamstown in their quest for a top four.
