Frankston's run home
Body:

A strong chance now of knocking off both Coburg and Port in the coming two weeks, which should see them finishing in the top 10. ✌️👍

It'll at least put us on a positive win/loss ratio for the year, which I'll be proud of regardless of whether we make it or not. The teams just below us have winnable games of their own so it's not impossible that one of them nudges us out. Percentage remains an issue.

I don't consider it finals or bust this year, so we just take one game at a time.

Well, I take a slightly different view to UpTheDolphins I must admit.

Yes, am very satisfied with the effort given that we have a new coach, CEO, and a vastly different playing list to last season. None of us knew what to expect going in, and the team has definitely exceeded any expectations.

But......

It's now clear that this team was shrewdly put together. Careful, needs based recruiting was done, and attention to character was definitely paid when signing players. Assuming that Jackson Kornberg has done most of that himself, then he is one clever operator and we're very lucky to have him on board. Given what we have seen during this season in terms of ability, this team is now deservedly in the 10, and it's ours to lose. With all due respect to Coburg and Port, we should be going into those two games as favorites (Port being at home for us is a clear advantage). I don't think we're without a chance of knocking Footscray over either, given their indifferent form of late, and the fact that that game is at home in the final round.

Having done a pretty reasonable ladder predictor, this is what I think the likely outcome is going to be......this assumes Frankston win the next two and lose to Footscray.....

Werribee 64, Brisbane 60, Footscray 58, Geelong 54, Southport 48, Richmond 48, Williamstown 48, Box Hill 44, Gold Coast 44, Frankston 40.....and outside the 10 would be GWS 36, Sandringham 34, Sydney 30, North Melbourne 28, Port Melbourne 24, Coburg 24, Casey 20, Essendon 20, Carlton 12, Northern Bullants 12, Collingwood 8.

Obviously among the remaining games there are plenty of games that could go either way. But it does show that the Dolphins have a pretty good crack at making it. Percentage could be a definite problem, but they certainly have their fate in their own hands now. Two wins is probably enough, three might even see them pinch a home final if things went our way.

But, you're right UpTheDolphins, just gotta focus on the next one and win that!

Whatever the outcome for Frankston in the final rounds, I believe this year has been very successful. Jackson has provided a game plan and a sustainable style of play that suits this level of football and importantly Kinetic Park, which they players have bought into 100% and been able to implement very quickly. I think we only need a few players to make Frankston a very fomidable team next year, providing we can retain this years key personel.

The next two rounds against Coburg and Port should be absolute crackers...
