Haven't been to Mont Saint Michel, but that does look like a place worth seeing. Thanks for the recommendation, vfa.

Thanks, digs. I'm in Melbourne through the end of September; it's been great to be able to attend Port games in person, and I'll definitely miss that after I've left.

Another vote for Mont St Michel.. Its a stunning location, especially in off peak seasons as it can be very busy.

Ahh the sadness of finding out the result of a game before you get the chance to watch it.  The only positive I can think of, is that you are unlikely to bump into anotger Port Melbourne supporter in the USA, so it shouldn't pop up in conversation 'Hey did you see the Borough had a huge win last night?' 😁

I won't be at this week's final game due to a kids birthday party, but I would recommend checking out the Port Melbourne Football Club museum that officially launches on Saturday. It's down opposite the merchandise booth.

Hopefully we get the chance to meet in person when you return next time Spiny.

Well, I have just now figured out that if I go to the match replays via the link on the home page of the AFL website, instead of going to the VFL page, I can find the VFL match replays without seeing the score first, so that's good. That is true, NorthPort, that I'm not too likely to find other Port Melbourne supporters in the United States. Often when I mention Australian rules football, I'm asked, "Is that soccer or rugby?" I then explain that it is a vastly superior sport!

I will definitely be going to the museum opening - very pleased that it is opening this season while I'm still here. And hopefully I will be able to return to Melbourne at some point to watch games in person again and indeed to meet up in person. Not sure how likely a return is, especially any time soon, but we will see. I'll certainly mention something on this forum if I'm coming back.

I'll have to see about getting up to Mont Saint Michel sometime in the off peak season. There actually is amateur footy in France, played from September-June, so I'll have to see about scheduling a trip around training!

I'm.pretty sure we have met Spiny, if I'm not mistaken we met at a pre season training session and we chatted for a while somewhere between the scoreboard and events centre. You asked me how I knew that Port Melbourne finances were struggling after hearing a conversation I was having and I explained that I was talking about the soccer ⚽️ club not footy.

Regarding Kuol - I tend to agree that he won't be ready for AFL next season, as well as giving away too many frees I was about to say his gosl kicking wasn't good but looking at his stat's he is at 9.3 - perhaps I'm just remembering the 3 behinds which seemed gettable? Talking about goal kicking I think Charlie Clarke will score a heap for us nexr season If he practices his kicking and has the potential for being our highest goal kicker.

I've enjoyed tge off field stuff thus season as well as reading the weekly Borough bulletin,  great way to keep the fans up to date abs hope it continues next season which who knows what it will being to the modern day unpredictable Port Melbourne.

Onre last one - Just to stir up my mate VFA who I've never forgiven for the 2014 preliminary finals loss casting all blame on him as he tipped Port and seems to have a high error Port match tip rate (as do i)  he has now tipped Port again this week so we are stuffed, I say a 5 goal + loss is on the cards today to put the suffering Port Melbourne supporters out of our misery aa the curtain is drawn on another season which promised so much but delivered so little.

We have met, then, Mega. - I recall that conversation. I had missed the beginning of the conversation you were having earlier and was rather confused - sorry about that! You also recommended to me the series of books about the club's history by Terry Keenan, which I have read at the State Library of Victoria and definitely enjoyed.

Charlie Clarke does look like he'll be great next season if he can kick more consistently. I'm not sure I'd realized AJ Kuol Mun had been that reliable a goalkicker either. I've thought he needs to become more consistent in marking - some days he marks well and other days he drops ones he should take. But I do expect him to improve in that regard.

My tipping is so unreliable that I always hesitate to tip my teams (clearly I should not have predicted finishing somewhere around 8th-10th on the ladder...), so I will join you in predicting a 5+ goal loss, which in all honesty would not surprise me since Collingwood's side looks stacked and our clearance work has dropped off.

No need to apologise but thanks all the same.

Yesterday proved never to listen to my predictions, I should have learnt that after telling northport we would play finals when we were up by 5 goals at half time v Coburg only for Coburg to go bang bang bang and our season take a turn !!!! I think from here onwards I will just predict the opposite of what I want to happen - so here goes…. 2026 will see port not win a game !  And apologies to VFA for the cheeky comment- I’ll buy you a beer at Heidelberg if you come Tuesday night
