IF timing is everything, rookie Geelong defender Brodie Moles picked a good time to deliver his best performance in a Cats jumper.

Less than 24 hours after Josh Hunt's season ended with a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament, Moles starred in the VFL as the Cats went down to Collingwood by 14 points.

Moles, in his second year on the clubs rookie list, won the ball at will during the first half and then turned the match on its head when thrust forward in the third quarter.
