As a former VFA scoreboard operator for over 30 years, it really irks me that the VFL and media “officially†accept incorrect scores. The VFL should only accept scores as recorded by goal umpires. The incorrect 2005 season scores listed below have occurred because the scribe did not wait until the scoreboard was waived correct by the goal umpires.
I wonder how many other scores are pure rubbish – and when a final score will be botched.
The correct scores are:
Round 2 Northern Bullants ½ time: 2 goals 6
Round 3 North Ballarat ¾ time: 12 goals 11
Round 3 Reserves North Ballarat ¾ time: 10 goals 3
Round 5 Tasmania ¾ time: 8 goals 12
(Tasmania was scoreless in last ¼)
Round 7 Coburg ½ time: 5 goals 5
