Calls for a VFL alignment to return to Ballarat footy

Former North Ballarat Roosters coach Gerard FitzGerald has flagged the idea of Ballarat once again being home to a VFL side, or at least partnering with an AFL club.
He says there's no reason the partnership the Western Bulldogs already have with the City of Ballarat couldn't also be a football one, similar to the set up the Roosters once had with North Melbourne.
FitzGerald has also come out in support of Mars Stadium being used for additional AFL games if a hub system is deemed safe.
Earlier this week Bulldog's President Peter Gordon said the club was committed to playing in Ballarat when safe to do so, even if no crowds are allowed.
