Now 2 weekends without games and 1 more weekend to come even in the minor chance lockdown ends on Thursday. Most likely no games until last weekend of June or first weekend in July. That is 4-5 weeks without games how does season function at all if that happens.

Maybe Tristan 'who is he' Salter can pull a rabbit from you know where. Locktoria state of nothing. Looks like some boring weeks ahead unfortunately. Not expecting any vfl or local footy for at least next 2 weeks more likely longer.

Again I unfortunately say, vfl will be over for 2021 I feel

They will most likely play a few matches in Victoria just amongst VFL clubs and dont forget the AFL clubs need all their players firsts and reserves playing and that will determine what happens to the Victorian VFL clubs.

I wouldn't be surprised if they let the stand alone clubs opt out if the wanted to.

With 11 new cases today we are one step closer to the VFL being cancelled as opening up this weekend looks very unlikely. Times like these just reinforce the idea to make the most of life when you can as it can all change suddenly.

In order to not have a lopsided competition does the VFL go back to Vic teams only in 2022 and try intergrate the interstate teams in 2023 or are we confident that this time next year everything will be back to normal ?

With 11 cases today not good. I can see the lockdown extend for a few more weeks. Since February I have been doing everything and enjoying. Vfl, afl, local footy, storm, pubs, watching bands, going to the races, coffee shop, pub meals etc. My motto is enjoy while you can. Who knows how long this lockdown will be. Locktoria a sad state of affairs !!!

I still think that a lightning premiership over about 6 weeks is our most likely option, with the competition including only VFA clubs with the AFL clubs playing their own practice matches and the interstate clubs returning into their respective state comps.

I can't see the Eastern League continuing in its current form next year as the logistictare surely proving far too difficult.

I also think that our comp should return to a somewhat independent model / administration as we just aren't getting the care that the comp deserves.

* It's time to restore the VFA name.

Announced this morning that barring accidents we are on track to have lockdown lifted on Friday, albeit with restrictions. Hopefully the rest of the season can be salvaged.

More likely vfl matches will resume next weekend. They might have to rejig the draw a bit over next few weeks until borders restrictions are lifted.

If lockdown is lifted, games should resume in Melbourne on Saturday. I understand season may reduce by 1 game from 16 to 15.
