Bullants V Port Melbourne
Body:
As expected the Bullants outclassed Port Melbourne, whose future looks as bleak as the weather that hovered over North Port for most of Sunday's game. The Borough tried hard and even enjoyed the lead for a brief moment early into the second term. Spurred into action by Port's resistance and a season ending knee injury to Ian Prendergast, the Bullants piled on 10 unanswered goals in driving rain. With a plethora of big man options, Prendergast's injury shouldn't hold the Bullants back in their push for the club's first flag since 1984. However his enthusiasm will be missed. Appearing to have his papers 'stamped' no return by the Carlton coaching regime, Prendergast has played with a passion that has become entrenched in this Bullants side. The only other concern to come out of the game would be the form of Frank Raso. Since coming back from a stress fracture of the foot, Raso has struggled and appears a beat behind the pace of the game at the moment. With the finals approaching hopefully Raso will find some form but for the moment a run in the reserves might help the Bullants captain find some form. On the plus side Ross Young again showed that he is on his way to becoming one of the competition's best midfielders. Young and Digby Morrell [6 Goals] were clearly the best for the Bullants. The Bullants head to Werribee next weekend, a ground they've only won once at [in 2004] since 1984.
