Unbelievable!
Body:
Another outstanding performance from the Bullants. Only injuries to Nick Fallu, Callum Chambers and Anthony Franchina soured the 112 point win against Bendigo that capped off a perfect record at Cramer St in 2006. The Bullants dominated from the start, although Bendigo did score the first goal of the game courtesy of a Bullants mistake. The Bombers lead was short lived as the Bullants piled on 13 goals to one, in what was a remarkable display. Granted Bendigo fielded a moderate side, but as far as records go the 13 goal first quarter and 106 point margin at half-time will take some beating in the future. [I believe the Bullants 13.0.78 first quarter was a club record, the previous best first quarter was 11.5.71 recorded against Waverly in 1971] Sporn [3 Goals], Blackwell and Young were outstanding ball winners for the Bullants, up forward Morrell finished with a 'lazy' five to take his tally to 48 for the season and Deluca finished with four, all coming in the first quarter blitz. Mark Vigus, Simon Rosa and Jordan Doering were all honest for the hopelessly outclassed Bombers. The Bullants went into the game without regulars Josh Vansittart and Frank Raso both of whom should be available for the first week of finals. Fallu and Franchina could miss as both have had chronic injury problems over the past two seasons. Franchina's hamsting went early into Saturday's game, while Fallu got through three quarters before hobbling off. Fallu will be sadly missed by the Bullants. He was very good in the early part of Saturday's game, but seems to be a week to week proposition.
